Kittens & other info... |

Updated 28 April 2008 Kaala has had her first litter of kittens. This clever girl has produced no less than six beautiful kittens. This was totally unexpected so, whilst four of these are already spoken for, there are two who are, at present, available. (Photos to follow). |

My price for a kitten is listed below. I realise that some may see this as high, however you should remember that Maus, particulary in New Zealand, are still very rare and, amongst other things, subject to an extremely small gene pool (i.e. there are few studs/queens in New Zealand). I also don’t have a lot of other people I can work with. I don’t produce many litters a year; typically only one every nine or so months in my case—each queen gets a good period between each litter to recover, and generally I prefer to breed ‘to order’. Purchase price: $1000 (local currency—i.e. NZD1000 / AUD1000) Deposit to secure a kitten: $300 Travel and related expenses to new home: New owners expense. Notes: All kittens will be ready for their new homes at no less than 14 weeks old. This is because they will have had both vaccine injections (triple-vaccine covering Fline Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus & Panleukopenia), be microchipped and de-sexed. They are also registered with Catz Inc (NZ registry), pest-free, wormed, covered by 30 days free insurance and (NZ only) a sample pack of the food they have been raised on. I keep them until this time to ensure they have had no adverse reactions to the vaccines/operation and come to their new home in the healthiest state possible. Once a deposit is paid I keep in regular contact with new owners, providing photos and updates by email. If you have Skype, it can be arranged for you to see your kitten ‘live’. It is important that I know about the circumstances of potential owners; are there other pets, are there children, have you had cats before. These, and other related, questions are what you should expect to answer for any reputable breeder, after all they are entrusting to you a kitten (or kittens) that they have spent a considerable time raising with the utmost care and attention.

Updated 28 April 2008 I am not contemplating another litter until at least Spring/Summer this year. At that time a pairing of Anaxibia & Lana Pennington’s Newkingdom Benu of Apophis is likely. If sufficient interest is noted, I may also look to mating Kaala and Boris (my new stud), although Kaala will need a good rest from her current litter, so I would not anticipate that mating any time before Feb/Mar next year, at the earliest. All of the above does depend somewhat on pre-orders. |
